USL Pro Iowa continues its efforts to grow soccer across the state of Iowa, investing in communities and reinforcing a commitment to providing opportunities for all. Their recent, significant partnership with Musco Lighting and Kick it Forward, donating ten mini-pitches to communities across the state (including near the Krause Gateway Center at Oakridge Neighborhood, a safe and affordable nonprofit housing and human services agency), demonstrates that soccer is indeed a valuable connector for individuals of all ages. In addition, Pro Iowa has engaged with the community by participating in events, festivals, and hosting World Cup qualifying watch parties, bringing together thousands of children and adults through the love of the game.
Key Areas
Pro Iowa’s initiative to bring soccer to all communities resulted in an additional eight futsal courts in 2021.

Krause Group and the Krause family are proud to actively pursue opportunities for giving back time, talent, and resources each year. As a company, 10% of our profits are given back to communities we serve. Our purposeful, strategic philanthropy demonstrates both our company and family values.
In 2021, Krause Family Foundations supported 76 organizations in the areas of arts and culture, education, faith, community betterment, and human service. Krause Group supported nearly 150 organizations with grants, sponsorships, gift cards, and product donations, raising over $1.2 million for several nonprofit organizations.
To expand upon and enhance the important work we have been doing in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion, Krause Group began working with nonprofit organizations such as OneIowa and Iowa Healthiest State’s Make it Okay campaign to create micro-learning videos which are shared with Associates as training opportunities. In-person training sessions, such as those with filmmaker André Robert Lee, were also offered to the community and to Associates.
A new partnership between Solar Transport and Des Moines Area Community College allows us to support English Language Learners (ELL) who are obtaining their transportation degree. By working directly with organizations such as DMACC, we can rely on their expertise and cultivate opportunities for both our Associates and for the communities in which we live and work.
Kum & Go has worked to expand several key programs, including Gallons for Growth which is now in two additional states, Colorado and Oklahoma, cultivating deeper relationships with local communities. We are working with new and existing vendors to continue strengthening nonprofit partnerships with organizations like Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign, The Trevor Project, and the Boys and Girls Club. One of the most impactful of these was a donation of 50 pairs of limited-edition Kum & Go sneakers to the Boys and Girls Club of Central Iowa.
With the announcement of a new Kum & Go market, we also announced a new Habitat for Humanity home sponsorship in Salt Lake City, Utah. Our connection to this home is important: it is focused on energy efficiency and land repurposing as it is built on the site of an old baseball field, enhancing the affordable, communal nature of the neighborhood. A new project with iJAG in area schools allowed us to connect with high school students, working on soft interview and job skills and talking to them about Kum & Go as a career opportunity, including the many associate-driven benefits that the company offers such as set schedules and weekly pay.
Krause+ continues to partner with organizations promoting and providing access to safe and affordable housing during community revitalization. This commitment means that 10-15% of all future builds will be in the affordable housing pool. Supporting mental health is also incredibly important, as the connection between homelessness and mental health is strong. By supporting wrap-around services like Primary Health care, some of these cycles can be stopped.
Our Italian companies are also focused on giving back. Parma Calcio continues to grow partnerships between the city of Parma and the team. Activities include donations to the local children’s hospital and mentorship with underserved youth in the area, building upon the rich traditions of the team, including youth mentorship/development, diversity and the fight against racism, and nutrition and healthy lifestyles. Casa di Langa, Vietti, and Enrico Serafino continue working towards sustainable products, experiences, and vendor partnerships.
While 2020 was an extremely challenging year, 2021 provided many opportunities for new and expanded community partnerships which continues to help us learn, adapt, and grow from the diverse challenges we all experienced.
Annually we give 10% of profits to the communities we serve. In 2021, we collected and donated $1.2 million+ through in-store fundraising efforts.
