As in many industries across the US, 2021 was another incredibly difficult year for our Associates at Solar Transport as both Corporate Associates and our Drivers navigated a second year of COVID-19. While the pandemic made it more difficult to staff both Corporate and Driver roles, the business continued to celebrate investments in the safety and wellbeing of our Associates through retention efforts, safety initiatives, and unique programs. This commitment to Associate wellbeing was evidenced by the Associate Voice Survey question of “Associate Benefits Meet My Needs” coming in at a 75% positive response.

Solar Transport is committed to reducing the environmental impact of our operations and fleet vehicles. We continue to utilize tools and resources from our long-standing membership with the EPA SmartWay Carrier Partner program to improve the transportation efficiency of our trucking fleet. Fleet fuel efficiency and energy intensity dropped slightly in 2021, while spill-free rate increased slightly. As we rebound from COVID-19, we are excited to work on continued improvements moving forward.
