Teamwork Ranch manages our land with a keen focus on conservation agriculture. Working closely with tenant partners, we require on-farm conservation practices to minimize topsoil erosion, reduce nutrient loss, and improve the quality of the soil. Modeling and sampling inform the practices needed to minimize annual topsoil loss and aid tenants in proper nutrient application and retention. In 2020, a soil loss modeling report was conducted for each farm, helping justify our requirements for tenant tillage. Those reports studied corn and bean rotations, tillage practices after both, and modeling based on slope and soil type. In 2021, we completed additional terracing work at two farms—and much more.
